An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker join our team for 20 hours per week in a 4 month fixed term for parental leave cover and to work with patients and family/whanau across all Waipuna Hospice services. This is a varied and challenging role and involves working within an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality social work service. There may also be locum cover available.
About Us
Waipuna Hospice is the sole provider of specialist community palliative care in the rapidly growing Western Bay of Plenty and as well as having an established inpatient unit we support a large community team and a number of second-hand retail stores.
The Role
We are looking for applicants with a Bachelor of Social Work (or equivalent), at least 2 -5 years post qualification experience, full Registration and experience working with clients/whanau impacted by living with a life limiting illness and the challenges this presents. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in working in the health sector and not for profit organisations.
About You
You will be highly organised with great time management, be compassionate, empathetic and exceptional at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people. You will have experience in group facilitation skills, excellent communication skills, demonstrated cultural competence and have the ability to prioritize and manage a busy workload.
