Most people would like to be supported to stay in their own home for as long as possible when they have a life limiting illness. Our Hospice at Home community team can support you and your family/whanau to do this. Our catchment area extends from Waihi Beach to Pukehina Beach.
You may be living in your own home, or wherever you call home, we can offer different levels of support depending on your needs.
If you are living in a residential care facility our palliative care nurses will support your care facility staff and health professionals to care for you and your family.
Our team of palliative care nurses assigned to you will work alongside your GP, hospital specialists, and other health professionals to help manage your symptoms and to support you and your family/whanau to enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Our palliative care nurses can also coordinate the different services within Waipuna Hospice that may help your ongoing emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing. This may include:
- Social Workers
- Grief Support
- Whakamaru (cultural advisor)
- Occupational Therapists
- Physiotherapists/loan of equipment

We can also refer you to other service providers for support with personal care and home help.
