An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Shop Manager to join our team for 13 hours per week in our Greerton Retail Store. This position will work closely with our Store Manager and work with the volunteers to present and sell donated goods and contribute to the Waipuna Hospice using Waipuna Core Values.
About Us
Waipuna Hospice is the sole provider of specialist community palliative care in the rapidly growing Western Bay of Plenty and as well as having an established inpatient unit we support a large community team and a number of second-hand retail stores.
The role
The key tasks of the position include:
- Managing the day to day operations of the shop supporting the Store Manager
- Management of the stock, including its presentation and storage
- Contributing to the retail operations of Waipuna Hospice
- Ensuring legal and organisational requirements are met
- Enhancing the profile of Waipuna Hospice
The hours are Friday 8am – 4:30pm and Saturday 9am – 2:30pm. Additional hours may be required.
About You
As the Assistant Shop Manager you will demonstrate an ability to work independently and as an effective member of the team to support the Store Manager.
You will be solution focused with a can-do attitude; have excellent time management skills and have previous retail experience. Display / window dressing experience is a bonus. You will be computer literate and able to use Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
You will have a great sense of humour, be empathetic and be exceptional at building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people. Ideally you will have had experience working in an Assistant Manager role previously.
