We are looking for an exceptional and forward thinking person to join our high functioning and flexible team as a Breakfast Cook and Catering Assistant. We need you to prepare quality breakfasts for our patients, and to help with our regular morning-tea caterings. All members of our kitchen team are expected to participate in all aspects of the hospitality we provide – from taking out the trash, through to plating and serving food for patients, staff and whanau.
This is a 6 month fixed term contract. The hours are 15 hours per fortnight, Friday 7:30am-10:30am, Saturday and Sunday 7:30am – 2:00pm (alternate weeks with another staff member).
About Us
Waipuna Hospice is the sole provider of specialist community palliative care in the rapidly growing Western Bay of Plenty and as well as having an established inpatient unit we support a large community team and a number of second-hand retail stores.
About You
Applicants must be able to work well under pressure (we have a busy 9 bed inpatient unit), have a good sense of humour, and exhibit great time management skills as this is a very busy role that requires a lot of multitasking. Experience in a commercial kitchen or a similar role is preferred, however, this is secondary to one’s ability to share the spirit of generosity in the way they conduct themselves in and out of the kitchen. A scone recipe that rivals my Nana’s would also go a long way to securing the position.
